Non-MUSE Event # 2

For the 2nd Non-MUSE Event, I attened the Star event at San Jose State University. This event bascially showed us how we were to start becoming our own muscians and song writers. It helped us find the motivation we need to help us go on in the music world and hopefully get a record and sign a deal.

It showed us how to entertain people, it taught us a little bit about music history. more so, it taught us about Elvis and The Beatles. Music itself isn't what people are looking for, they want the person singing the music. basically, ever singer has a story on how they became famous and what not.

They described to us the foundation of success and what it takes to become a star. They even have some programs and clubs at San Jose State University where a student can go and see how to become famous,achieve what they have been seeking.

Fianlly, they taught us that we needed to be motivated to get what we want in music, we have to really want it to obatain it. The determination in a person needs to push them towards success and help them try and push for their goals and desires.

Well, that was my 2nd MUSE report, it was really fun and I hope more and more people learn about this event because it can really help people out. It can do what you think couldn't be done. Overall, check it out sometimes in your free time, it's really an eye opener.

Get Through College Plan

Getting through college is going to be pretty rough but, hopefully I will make it through with some help as well as some motivaition.

Firstly, I plan on taking my GE courses in the first 2 years of my university life. It doesnt matter really what classes I choose, I just want to get college over with as soon as I can. After my 2 years of college, I plan on taking major courses later on so that I will have my major declared and choosen and what I want to study.

Secondly, I plan on taking my WST after I finish my English 1B class. That will be enough to help me pass it so I can take upper division courses.

For my major, which is Chemistry, Conc. on Biochemistry. The Prereqs. for that major is 1 Semester of Comm 20, 3 semesters of english, 6 semesters of math, 5 semesters of chesmitry, 3 semesters of physics and thats about it. The required courses are 10 classes of chemsitry about 4 in math, 3 in physics, of courses finishing my GE for my degree and thats about it.

I am in remedial classes as of today and i think this is something that might slow me down a lot. Its already affected me with all the stress but now its holding back on my classes as well. But, I have a plan to pass my remedial classes, which is to take them at a Community College and finish my other courses at San Jose State University.

I think it might take me 5 years to complete my degree. I will try and make it 4 years hopefully but, you can't just predict when you finish, only time will tell. i really want to finish in 4 years though, so I can move on with my life and get over with all the stress and what not from school.

This exercise has helped me more on obtaining my degree, I have layed out new plans and rules for me to follow. Hopefully from now on, only the better will come and I will graduate college with the ebst possible career choice ahead of me and best lifestyle.

MUSE Event #3

The 3rd MUSE event I attened is called"Finding A Job In A Tough Economy". It basically talked about how to look for a job in the economic situation we are in right now. Considering the fact the America has a bad economy at the moment it is very hard to find a career or even normal job. I attended this MUSE event 11/17/2009. It was also held at the career center.

Finding a job in a tough economy is one the hardships american people nowadays are facing, this MUSE event helped me get through it and find a job. They explained how to look nice and how to find a job that can suit us as well as our needs. They taught us how to look professional and how to talk to people with respect in order to make a successful sale, if you are trying to get a sales associate position or what not.

Firstly, You should always be clean which means you need to take showers and shave etc. Dress professionally, which means wear a suit and nice dress clothes. Nothing too unformal or they may think you dont care about this position and you dont like the job you want. Understanding how to find a career in this economy is what everyone needs to know because as you all can see, a lot of people are getting laid off and they cant support their families and its needs. Find a job that suit's you to because you dont want to wake up in the morning saying " man, why do I have to go to work today?". Now I'm sure no one likes work but, you can at least go there somewhat excited and enjoy your time there doing what you would like to do. Well that was my 3rd MUSE event, I hope you guys check it out the career center soon. They really have alot of information that can help everyone out not just students.

Well I presented was John Lennon's death to the class, He was a famous member of the Beatles who was shot dead by Mark David Chapman while he was returning home with his wife Yoko Ono. He died Dec. 8, 1980 on his way back to his apartment. He was a true member of the beatles, not only that but he also loved the human race and loved peace. More so, he tried do everything in his power to obtain peace around the world. So he wasnt just a famous muscian but also a kind and loving person.

The second MUSE event I attended was also at the career center. It was called "Choosing a Major". It basically talked about how students can find help choosing a major and how they can decide what major they want to study as they grow up. It was held on 11/10/2009 from noon-1:15pm.

At the career center, they explained to us that it isnt easy to choose a major and that many college studens go through 2-3 majors before they actually pick a final one. They told us that the career center was there to help us choose one and that they have many types of programs that we can choose from which we may use in order to help us out.

They help you pick something that is good and fits you and your personality works with what you want to study. Nevertheless, they do this because when you find a career using your major, you can enjoy waking p in the morning excited to go to work and have a amazing career. Choosing at major at SJSU is really important nowadays because they are making new rules and what not. You cant change your major after taking 60 units so it would be wise to do it as soon as possible if you find a major that suites you and your personality. Some people like staying undeclared until the end of their 2nd yaer of college which is fine, by then they know what they want in their lives and stay on top of a subject. Well that was my report on the MUSE workshop, you guys should try attending it sometime.

for my second non-muse event, I went to a Santa Barbara for Hallowen. Santa Barbara on halloween is a palce where all college students go to so they can party. It was pretty crazy, it almost had as many people as the love evolution in S.F a month. People go there dress up in costumes and have fun, they are pertty drunk most of the time so they do a lot of dumb stuff.

Its a fun place to go to and have fun even with all the stress college students go through, its just a nice place to have fun and party around with your friends, heres some pictures about Santa barbara.

Drugs essay REVISED

Drugs are used in our everyday life, but they are also used at San Jose State University as well Drugs affects peoples lives and minds. In addition, they can break a person apart even if they are meant to help him out. Drugs are always abused in todays world and thats why alot of people have problems and what not.
The drugs of choice for new freshmen at college probably right now would be weed and acid, im guessing. Those are the drugs of choice because people can get their hands on them really easily. I mean, I dont even do drugs and I know about 10 people that can easily get me weed. Moreover, acid was offered to be me in downtown S.F at love evolution, showing you that anyone can get their hands on it.
What is acceptable in our social lives today is weed. Weed is like the new drug style that everyone uses and most people say that it doesnt even affect your health. Furthermore, this is true, but it is considered a gateway drug meaning that it will open people up to other drugs. A drug thats not accepeted is most likely crack and cocaince. Those 2 drugs just show that some people cant control themselves and that they need serious help.There arent really that many temptations with drugs compared to drinking but you know temptations are always still out there and everyone tries to persuade people to use them in todays world.
Drugs like crack are very bad for people. They casue them to lose self control and send people into depression which later on leads to suicide and murder. I really have no idea how these people are drawn to this kind of drug use, but I guess it happens.
All in all, drugs are only their to hurt people and cause them to get forget about whats going on in their lives just to try and solve a problem. There are many soultions to problems and that everyone faces and drugs are not one of them. Dont be tempted to use drugs, it will only get you into more problems and deeper holes. Drugs are bad, they can kill you, destroy you and hurt you. Just say no, always works.

Senior Interview with Moe and Chad! REVISED

The senior interview I did was with my 2 good friends named Moe and Chad. They both attend SJSU as seniors and will graduate in January. I talked to them both about college life and about advice they would pass on to me. Moe when first in the interview so im going to talk about him first.
Moe is athlete who plays soccer here at San Jose State. He has had 4 majors before choosing his last one which is Biochemistry at the moment. He started in engineering and realized that he didnt like the material and ended up in biochem. When I asked him about some advise he would give me, he said " Dude, just dont stop trying and go for what you really want in life, College is a struggle and your gonna struggle in it." I already knew most of this because thats what everyone tells me, college is hard and you need to really believe in yourself if you want to succeed. I then asked him about how his college life went by. He answered saying " College is fun man, but you need to learn how to manage your time wisely cuz elsewise your not gonna pass. People who dont manage their time usually need more years to pass college but if you work on it your set." That piece of information is really going to help me I thought to myself. I am terrible at managing my time and hopefully i'll work on it and pass my classes and what not.

My next interview was with chad who isnt an athlete like Moe but a really smart guy with a 3.8 GPA. I asked him what he would suggest me doing as a freshmen, he responded with" join a club, meet new people, go to parties , have fun, dont drink, don do stupid stuff and your set for good." Not like I didn't do any of that already, but ya I liked his idea and hopefully will try to work on it. I also asked him what I should go if i'm struggling or under pressure he said " Haha, relax man, All you gotta say is no to anything you dont want. Everyone will respect your decisions and they wont try to make you change your mind." I have had this happen to me already and know it for the most part put for him to say it because he has a 3.8 GPA made me think about I more and I really cant say i've been through much because i've just only began college.

Well those were my 2 interviews with my senior buddies. Ive elarned alot from them and hopefully one day when im a senior, I can pass down some advice to freshman at college.

Non- MUSE event ( Love Evolution)!

For my non-muse event I attended the love evolution down in San francisco on Oct 3rd. Basically it was like a big techno dance party outside starting from 11:30 till 8pm. After 8 pm was the after parties which were even better then the regular thing. The lvoe evolution was a great place to go to and ill be going for sure next year. I more people come as well! Music Memories #2 with Gramps! revised

Ok I talked about my music memories in Music Memories #1 and how I became involved in music and what genre suits me best. To start off, I arranged an interview with my grandpa and asked him about what he used to listen to and how he grew up with music in his younger years.
My first question to him was " So gramps, did you even have music when you were young?" He looked at me and laughed, responding with" The best music was invented in my time, todays music is bull and really, is just crazy." I laughed when he said this and thought to myself, " Yea, everyone has different taste in music and his is just probably what was great in the old days".
He stated that music was more controlled back then, that it was smoother, enjoyable and calm to listen to. His favorite type of music was the growing Rock' N ' Roll in the 1960's. He loved to listen to Frank Sinatra and his favorite song was Fly Me To the Moon sung by Frank. Music was just growing and he liked to listen to everything. He actually met his wife (My Grandma) at the concert, so music has a huge impact on his life.
I asked him if he liked an music from today and he said he loves singing ( I almost had to leave him at this part) Lolipop by Lil Wayne to his wife. I gasped and stood there, trying not to think of what I just heard. He laughed and said he like a singer named NickelBack and that his music was closest to what used to be rock in the old days. My grandpa is a pretty weird guy when it cmes to music, you can never really figure out what he likes and doesnt. I mean he can jump from one genre to the next almost instantly, I really like that fact and him and thinks its awesome to have because you can never just like one thing but everything you hear.
He says he doesnt like listening to music today, because he doesnt want to lose his hearing, he says. He tells me to listen to whatever I think is cool or helps me relax and music isnt just something you listen to but something that teaches us what we need to know and helps us learn more about what we already know.

MUSE Workshop Report # 1

The MUSE workshop I attended was "Exploring Careers" in the career center on 10/01/2009 Thursday from 3:00pm-4:15 pm.

This workshop basically talked about what to look at in the future of our careers. The leaders of this workshop discussed methods and tips which are very helpful to the average person looking for a career and trying to learn more about it.
They talked to us about how we can research our major and what career paths were available to us. We can go to careercenter.sjsu.edu and explore our major at the website and research and find other majors which may interest us.
There was a video about how this group of students travelled America and asked all these types of people about their careers and how they managaed to work there way up to where they are at right now.
Alot of college students have trouble with deciding what to major in, most students dont even know what they want to study until they reach their second year of college. The career center is a place where it can help you find out who you are and what you would like to work in. They have many tools which are useful to everyone and are free at the same time, all you have to do is go there!
I liked my stay at the workshop and it has helped me find my career and major which I was interested in.

Study Tip #3

Focus on what you are studying and ignore anything that is trying to take you off your thinking and understanding. Dont let anything distract you because well for me, I get distracted by almost anything and then it just delays my study time. I then have to spend more time studying, im not saying study as fast as you can but you dont want to spend the whole day studying. That is my 3rd study tip, hope you enjoy it!

Sex Essay REVISED

Sex is what most people want in life. They try a lot of things to achieve it, at some point everyone has sex but the question is when do they? The pressures college students face with sex is pretty big, everyone thinks they need sex and most people have already had it before they even came into college. As a college student, I faced a lot of pressure with sex in the beginning of my days at college but now I see it as something everyone does for fun or if they are in love with each other. Sex is a great thing for many people and it could be devstating for others.
Dating is the key matter towards having sex. Rules in dating either tend to be good or bad for the person. If a date goes well you get sex and well, if it goes bad no sex and try again next time. I think that in dating you should be respectful and treat a women as kind as possible. Not just for sex, but for respect to women. I think when you have a date, you shouldn't be late to dinner or to anywhere else you are headed to.
When I do ask someone out, I never google them. Thats how you tell a person if good for you or not, you ask them out on a date and see if you like each other or not. Most of the time the guy asks the girl out but you never know it could go the other way to. I think Googling a person is like getting to deep into their business, it shows that you already don't trust one another and if you develop a relationship it's going to be bad.
Advice I would give to younger kids is first off, just be yourself and don't try to act different. You may think that the person you asked out like's what your trying to change to but most women just want normal guys or guys with mansions and cars in their pocket. If your asking a girl out for the first time, thats the hardest but grow a pair and go for it because most of the time it works out better then you could have imagined. I've had a personnal experience with this as well, I thought this girl would never go out with me till one day, I went up to her and asked her out to dance. I thought she was going to say no and leave me there but she actually said yes and we ended up going to the dance and having an amazing time there. Sex is really amazing and I think everyone should have it or do it. It makes you feel great even if its for fun or if you love someone, just do it.

1. I would walk 500 miles- The Proclaimers- This song is just horrible, no beat, no flow and the lyrics are just bad. I don't like this song

2. Cotton Eyed Joe - Rednex- First off I hate country music and second the song makes no sense at all. I really can't believe people think of this kind of stuff

3. Laughing Gnome- David Bowie- There are 2 things singing in this song, one of them being a person and the other I really dont know. You cant understand anything and the beat is just as bad

4.Clumsy- Fergie- This has to be up there for worst songs of the year. Its so hard to listen to this song. Makes me want to shut up off my music.

5. Lip Gloss- Lil Mama- I think the girl is cute but she can't sing if her life depended on it. She says the same things over and over again for example "My lil gloos is poppin my lip gloss is..." like seriously who cares?

Studying
1. When I study, I need to be alone in a quiet place. this helps me think and ask questions to myself without having noise to bother or annoy me.
2. I re-read the material over and over again and make sure i fully understand it before moving on, this helps me out greatly for exams and quizes.
3. Writing down the main details and topics of the subject I am studying is the key thing in the way I study, people usually hate this method but it works out great for me.
4. Because I am a visual learner I tend to understand things better by viewing a picture and understanding it rather then just words coming into my head.
5. Study Groups, there are not always around but when I am in one I always do amazing on tests because usually everyone has questions and those questions help me out. You never know those questions could be on your exam!

Studying
1. The way I study usually is go in a quiet room or place and bring everything I need with me including food, paperwork, books and materials I need to work with.
2.I like to memorize important topics and details because usually they cover the main points and ideas in the subject
3. Studying is very important to me, I like to take breaks at times usually for an hour or so but thats about it. If I am stressed trying to understand something I take my mind off of it and go do something else until I relax a bit. I come back tot he subject later and then try to understand it again and this helps me a lot in tests and exams
4.Using flashcards helps me a lot to, I have my friend quiz me a bit using flashcards and that helps me because I am a visual learner and flashcards are a visual thing so that helps a ton.
5. Reading over the same topic over and over again is also helpful because it kind of forces the readings in my head and stays there hopefully.
6. Taking notes on seperate pieces of papaer helps me a ton to because I write down the important details in it and if I need to revise anything before a test I just look over those notes.
7.Use study groups- this helps me as to if I have any questions I could just ask the people in my study group or help and assitance which makes it much easier then trying to figure it out on my own.
8. Asking a teacher- If I need serious help I get help from a teacher or tutor and ask them for help but most of the time I dont have any serious trouble.
9. Listening to music- I always have music on when I study, it helps me relax a lot and for some reason lets me understand more.
10. Figuring things out on my own- If all else fails I try to understand the subject alone which doesn't work out pretty well but its better then nothing, I spend a long time reading over the material and hopefully nderstand what its trying to tell me.

1. Players Club- Rappin 4 tay- It talks about how guys get girls and have money, something everyone wants and strives for.

2. Sexy Chick- Akon and David Guetta- It's a brand new song I like, I love the beat to this song and it basically talks about how girls are sexy and they can play with a lot of guys minds.

3. How Do you want it- 2 Pac- The title says it all, it also talks about smoking drugs and takin pills but i like it just because it asks the girl how does she want it.

4. BlueBerry Yum Yum- Ludacris- Talks about smoking weed and how it makes you feel good and relaxed and how it tastes good. He talks about how its sad because people are smoking regular cigars and not weed.

5.Better-Guns'n'Roses- I love this song, it talks about how to live better with women and drugs. I really hate drugs but you can relate to this by just feeling relaxed and less stressed.

Academic Planning
What I plan to do in the future with my academic life is well study for my P.H.D hopefully. I plan to study my first 4 years at San Jose State and 4 years at UCLA. I plan to become a dentist so thatt requires a lot of math and science. I hope it only takes me 8 years to finish or otherwise im going to be around the age og 28 when I finish. My major at the moment is engineering but I plan to change that to biochemistry. I do not have a minor yet but I plan to get one in business just incase anything goes wrong with becoming a dentist. Well thats my academic planning. Im really a smart guy if I set my mind to something I want to do. I believe I can achieve whatever I want when I want it. The same goes for everyone else they just need to try. I plan to minor in business hopefully because I love business and the international market. I was thinking about minoring in accounting because I want to grow up working in large business companies and hopefully become a C.E.O.

Professional Goals
When I was a yound kid I really wanted to become a professional scoccer player and I still have that dream till today. I plan on playing soccer at San Jose State hopefully. For my academic profession Im hoping to become a dentist. A dentist takes a lot of work but I believe I can become anything I want to if I set my mind to it. If I could be anything in this world I would like to try out an astronaut because I think space is amazing. As an off job I want to become a cook with my own private 5 star place. I think its just fancy having a 5 star restaurant and im really interested in knowing about wha types of food there is on this planet and what kind comes from the many different cultures. I was thinking about becoming a swatt member with the police force but thats to dangerous so I dont think I'll be heading that way. I was interested in becoming a heart surgeon but the idea of working with a alot of blood and peoples lives in your hand scares me a bit so I dont think I'll be going down that path either.

Personal Goals
Well what I want to do with my personal life is try to be more confident in myself and have more trust in others. Im a bit shy at times but thats something im working on right now and hopefully will change in the near future. I hope to finish college by at least the age of 26 or 27 and get married in the year after at 28 or 29. I want to have kids around 32 maybe and raise like 3 or 4 kids. One thing I have to do though is travel the world and explore everything, I love travelling, its gets my fuzzy inside when I get on a plane and fly to different countries in the world. I also want to have a huge mansion and nice cars maybe even have a waterpark in my backyard. The girl I want to marry has to be special and I already have that special girl in mind but she doesn't know it yet. Those are my future goals and I hope I can achieve them!

I never thought I would be on the front page of google but when I google myself it shows my myspace and facebook pages. Its kinda cool to see that but some of the other things that were included with my name was this one prime minister guy from another country. Its kind of cool to see that my name is famous outside in other countries. I think when i goggle myself its pretty funny because you never know what to expect till ou see it lol.

Music has been around forever and most of the music in my time has grown with me. Music has developed so much over the past years and inspired millions of people. Music never really was there for me untill the past couple of years. I love music and dont know what I would do if I couldnt listen to it whenever I wanted to.
Music has always inspired me. I really didnt start listening to music untill I was about 12 years old I think. My parents listened to the old stuff but I really never liked it. I like music I can relate to and the old stuff just doesnt fit in todays world so I guess thats one of the reasons i dont like music back in the days.
When I first began listening to music I started out with rap and r&b which I still listen to today. I started out with rap and r&b because most of my friends at the time listented to that and they sort of introduced me to music to begin with.
By the time I was 15 or 16 i started listening to different kinds of music such as rock ,pop and slow jams. So kinda getting to know more and more music. I tried listening to country music but that was just terrible, I couldnt stand any of that type of music. It has no beat no lyrics so ya not my type of music.
As of right now I like listening to all kinds of music but country. My favorite though is rap and r&b, the beats just get me going. I listen to music all the time, its like with me everywhere I go, on my phone, Ipod, computer and everywhere else. Music is a big part of my life, it inspires me to do what I think is challenging and difficult. Finally music is there to also help me relax when im stressed or somethings up but tahts why love music!

Hey, My name is Hamzah Najib, I am a current student at San Jose State University. There are alot of things about me that I enjoy which include: sports, hanging out, chillin at home and relaxing when I can. Im a pretty chill guy who likes pretty much everything down from music, clothes to making money and playing sports. My favorite sports are football, basketball and soccer, Soccer being the best of the 3.

I enrolled at San Jose State because it looks like a great place to study and learn many things. My first week of college has been cool, pretty wild and crazy but its been kinda fun. Hopefully it stays great tilll I graduate. I still have no idea what I want to major in or what I want to become when I grow up. I choose the MUSE class "Sex,Drugs and Rock'N'Roll" because it seems interesting and fun so I decided to try it out.
